FAA Members to Advocate for Property Tax Discounts
FAA members will visit the offices of Florida legislators next week to advocate for property tax discounts for affordable and workforce housing, among other FAA 2023 legislative priorities. Property tax discounts as well as other tools to address the state's current and future hosuing supply needs are included in Senate President Kathleen Passidomo's priority legislation (SB 102) for the 2023 session. SB 102 passed out of the Senate Community Affairs Committee unanimously on February 8 and is scheduled to be heard by the Appropriations Committee on February 22. The legislative office visits will take place as part of Impact, Powered by FAA, the 2023 FAA legislative conference. Learn more about FAA's support of SB 102.
Revamped Leadership Lyceum Launches Next Week

The 2023 FAA Leadership Lyceum kicks off on Monday, February 20, with one of the largest classes in the program's history. Candidates in the 2023 Lyceum class represent a broad cross section of current and aspiring volunteer leaders from each of FAA's nine affiliated local associations.

This year's Lyceum program includes a number of key programmatic evolutions. These improvements range from a more transparent application process to introduction of new curricula. Each of these changes, by design, is aimed at enhancing the participant's experience, engagement, and understanding of how to be a more effective volunteer leader.

The 2023 Leadership Lyceum program will culminate in a graduation ceremony at Inspire, powered by FAA, for those who complete all requirements. Be on the lookout for a call for interest in applying to the 2024 class this fall.
