FAA Priority Legislation SB 102 Passes Senate Unanimously

On March 8, the Florida Senate voted unanimously to pass SB 102, which was championed by Senator Alexis Catalayud and Senate President Kathleen Passidomo. SB 102 will provide historic funding for affordable and workforce housing while implementing creative solutions, such as property tax discounts, to address Florida's housing needs. NAA Alerts Members to Expect Heightened Scrutiny of Fees

The National Apartment Association has alerted members to expect heightened scrutiny of how rent and fees are set, following release of an open letter from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regarding application fees and leasing costs. In the letter, Secretary Marcia Fudge urged housing providers and companies that provide leasing services to adopt policies that promote fairness and transparency in the process. NAA continues to push back on expanded federal intervention in the landlord/tenant relationship and counsels the White House and federal agencies against increased federal involvement in the highly regulated and localized leasing process. Read more.

2023 NAA Mental and Emotional Health Survey Now Open

The National Apartment Association has launched its third annual Mental and Emotional Health Survey focused on rental housing industry professionals, sponsored by MRI Software and conducted by Swift Bunny. It seeks to evaluate employee wellbeing, understand how mental and emotional health affects work and personal life, assess examples of support offered by employers, delve into resources offered by NAA and identify overarching trends. The survey, which is anonymous, brief, voluntary and easy-to-execute, is now open for organization participation through Friday, April 14. Read more.

2023 Prospectus

Exhibitors, Mark Your Calendars

Suppliers who plan to exhibit at Inspire, Powered by FAA (the 2023 FAA Annual Conference & Trade Show), will want to make note of a couple of important dates. If your company exhibited in 2022, an email was sent to the primary contacts on file with FAA. On March 22 at 9 a.m., an invitation with a private link to select booth space will be sent to those verified primary contacts. Exhibit selection for all other suppliers will open at 9 a.m. Eastern time on March 29 at FAAinspire.com/exhibit. Please be prepared to select and pay for your booth at that time. This event WILL sell out. Note: You will need to use a laptop or desktop computer, not a mobile device, to complete the process.
