FAA Board Elects 2022-2023 Officers
The FAA Board of Directors met via Zoom on Thursday, October 20, at 10 a.m. Among the items of business at this annual meeting, rescheduled from September 28, was a vote on the 2022-2023 FAA Executive Committee. Congratulations to the newly elected officers! They are: Jimmy Chestnut, president; Ricardo Alicea, vice president and president elect; Keri Walker Pfeifer, treasurer; Jordan Petras, secretary. The meeting and the installation of officers were postponed because of Hurricane Ian; the officers will be officially installed at a later date.
Members Step Up to Aid in Hurricane Ian Recovery
After Hurricane Ian decimated much of Southwest Florida and flooded parts of Central Florida, volunteers from local FAA affiliates, multifamily management companies, and suppliers to the multifamily industry rolled up their sleeves to sort, package, and deliver more than 100,000 pounds of relief supplies provided by the Alabama-based charity Hatching Hope. Read more.
FAA Welcomes Trinity Kutschinski
Trinity Kutschinski has joined the FAA team as advocacy resources manager. A 2019 graduate of the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in political science, she was a government affairs intern at FAA and most recently was public affairs director for the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando.
Melanie Palaigos Named Director of Meetings
Melanie Palaigos has been promoted from meetings manager to director of meetings and will oversee all FAA meetings and events. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and a Certified Meeting Planner. She held positions at Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Tupperware before joining FAA in 2021. She replaces Ralph Robinson, who left FAA in September to pursue other opportunities after 11 years of service.

Registration Is Now Open for Newly Rebranded Legislative Conference
The FAA Legislative Conference has been rebranded as of 2023 to Impact, Powered by FAA, and registration is now open.  This opportunity to make your voice heard in Tallahassee will take place February 21-22, at the AC Hotel Tallahassee Universities at the Capitol.
FAA Legislative Platform Meeting Scheduled for November 10
The rescheduled FAA Legislative Platform Meeting will take place via Zoom on Thursday, November 10, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. All FAA members are welcome to attend and share concerns about legislation that could impact the apartment industry In addition, FAA government affairs director, Amanda White, and lobbyist Kelly Mallette will provide an update on what will be on the horizon for the 2023 state legislative session. To register, you must be logged into your member profile.
Compensation and Benefits Report Available for Purchase
The 2022 FAA Compensation and Benefits Report is now available for purchase. The report includes data for all major job titles, and includes data from 2020 for comparison. Participating companies received a complimentary report. Regional reports will be available soon.

FSC meeting rescheduled for October 31
The fall meeting of the Florida Suppliers Council has been rescheduled from September 28 to October 31. The meeting will take place via Zoom. Supplier members of FAA will receive a separate invitation. The agenda will include election of 2022-2023 officers. Nominees are Keith Gibbons, ExpressAR, associates' vice president (chair); Heather Calderone, ResMan, vice chair; and Maurice D. Williams, ParkingPass.com, secretary. A separate email with details and a Zoom link will be sent to all supplier members.
