As Chair of the FAA Nominating Committee, I have issued this call for nominations for the election of officers for the Florida Apartment Association for terms to be served in 2024-2025. The link to submit a nomination can be found at the bottom of this article. The deadline to nominate is June 30, 2024.

Secretary Open 1 Year
Treasurer Contested 1 Year
Vice President | President-Elect Contested 1 Year

*Status indicates whether or not a current officer may ascend to a higher office in the next term (i.e. secretary to treasurer). In these instances, the status will be marked as "Contested." If uncontested the status will be labeled as "Open." Ascension is not automatic, and any FAA member in good standing may run for any electable position identified above.

Officers can expect to serve at least 5 years as they progress through the ranks. (Advancement is not automatic.) Each year, the Board of Directors meets in person three times in various locations throughout the state. Officers are expected to attend all Board Meetings in addition to the Legislative Conference, Annual Conference, and other meetings that may be called by the President.
Yes. Most travel is in state, but NAA Delegates are required to travel for out of state meetings.
Each year, a Nominating Committee is appointed by the FAA President to source officer candidates for the FAA Executive Committee and the Florida Suppliers Council. This Committee interviews candidates, reviews qualifications, and recommends a "slate" of officers to the FAA Board of Directors. This slate is published prior to the annual conference (Inspire) each year. The Board then votes on the recommended slate as a whole.
Terms for all incoming officers begin after they have been installed at the Annual Conference. This year, terms will begin on Friday, September 20, 2024.
All candidates meeting the criteria stated above will be interviewed by the Nominating Committee on July 26, 2024.
