What's New in the FAA
What's New Nationally
FAA members who are interested in becoming FAA leaders can ask their local affiliate executive to nominate them for the 2018 FAA Leadership Lyceum program. Slots are available for individuals from either multifamily management companies or supplier companies.
The FAA Leadership Lyceum works to identify and develop a well-informed and highly motivated group of emerging multifamily housing leaders: people with a broad-based vision and strong commitment to the mission and strategic objectives of the Florida Apartment Association and its local associations.
Lyceum candidates are required to complete three classroom modules that are each five hours. They must attend one FAA Board of Directors meeting, one FAA Legislative Committee meeting, the FAA Legislative Conference, and the FAA Annual Education Conference. If you're interested in more information or want to enroll, please contact your local association.
There is still time to make your voice heard at the annual legislative platform meeting, but you must register. The meeting is sponsored by Invisible Waste Services. Join the conversation with elected officials, FAA lobbyist Kelly Mallette, and government affairs director, Courtney Barnard and discuss possible 2018 legislative issues and the upcoming midterm election. Lunch is included and registration is required. You can register online here.
The meeting will take place October 11 at noon at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Grand Republic Ballrooms C-D.

If you are unable to attend the platform meeting but would like to share your thoughts about issues, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Treat yourself to something nice while supporting APAC at the annual silent auction. The auction is being held in conjunction with Maintenance Mania on Thursday, October 12 from 4:30-6:30 p.m., in Grand Republic A-B.
Take home an Amazon Echo, YETI Cooler, or a few bottles of Napa Valley's finest wines. There is something for everyone!
Tell FAA what your think about Multifamily Florida and other FAA communications by taking a brief survey. Respondents who provide contact information will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card.
If you missed the summer issue of Multifamily Florida, you can read a report on the 2017 Florida Legislative Session and other select articles online now. You may also view the entire digital version here.
If you did not receive a print magazine and would like to in the future, please view your profile on our website and update your mailing address if needed. Read more about how to create a log-in and update your profile.
The next meeting of FAA's Product Service Council will be October 11 at 9 a.m. at Disney's Contemporary Resort, Grand Republic C-D. It will include nomination and election of officers for the 2017-2018 term.
