Hurricane Irma: How to Get or Give Help

In an effort to support Floridians affected by Hurricane Irma, FAA has compiled a list of available resources, and has partnered with aid agencies.

2018 Leadership Lyceum Nominations Now Open

FAA members who are interested in becoming FAA leaders can ask their local affiliate executive to nominate them for the 2018 FAA Leadership Lyceum program. Slots are available for individuals from either multifamily management companies or supplier companies.

The FAA Leadership Lyceum works to identify and develop a well-informed and highly motivated group of emerging multifamily housing leaders: people with a broad-based vision and strong commitment to the mission and strategic objectives of the Florida Apartment Association and its local associations.

Lyceum candidates are required to complete three classroom modules that are each five hours. They must attend one FAA Board of Directors meeting, one FAA Legislative Committee meeting, the FAA Legislative Conference, and the FAA Annual Education Conference. If you're interested in more information or want to enroll, please contact your local association.

Register to Be Heard on Legislative Priorities

There is still time to make your voice heard at the annual legislative platform meeting, but you must register. The meeting is sponsored by Invisible Waste Services. Join the conversation with elected officials, FAA lobbyist Kelly Mallette, and government affairs director, Courtney Barnard and discuss possible 2018 legislative issues and the upcoming midterm election. Lunch is included and registration is required. You can register online here.

The meeting will take place October 11 at noon at Disney's Contemporary Resort in Grand Republic Ballrooms C-D.

If you are unable to attend the platform meeting but would like to share your thoughts about issues, send an email to courtney@faahq.org.
